I've wanted to be a mom for as long as I can remember. I truly feel like my mom was put on this planet to be a mom, and that most likely is the reason. A few years after meeting my husband I began a very rigorous Masters program. I watched girls dropping out left and right when they became pregnant, and so I told my husband, Steve, I wanted to wait until I was done to start trying. We loved traveling and being together, and so for us it was no big deal. It wasn't until we had been...

As a mom of two girls I'm often on the lookout for the best children's boutiques, and when I found Lilattoosh Baby in Miami I fell in love!  They carry clothing for both boys and girls that is so on-trend, and everything is just so comfy.  With the launch of their new website I thought it was about time I sat down with the owner for a little Q & A: 1. Do you have a background in fashion? I have a degree in Fashion Merchandising & Design from Drexel University (and did a year at FIT in NYC), worked in showrooms...

As a mom living in Florida one of my biggest fears is of drowning.  I mean who can blame me?  Drowning is one of the leading causes of unintentional injury-related deaths in our country.  As soon as Charlie turned about 15-months-old, I began private swim lessons mostly for comfortability with the water.  A lot of my friends did a program called ISR, but I was way too much of a scaredy-cat for it.  In all honesty, I didn't even want Charlie being dunked under the water at all. However, when Charlie turned 2, I began exploring the best options for...

As a huge fan of Baby Steps and Mish, I wanted to interview its founder, and I was so excited when she agreed! Vivian is an absolute force to be reckoned with, and a true girl boss. Read on to learn all about her journey to starting one of my favorite children’s companies. 1.What made you start the company? 39 years ago I had a toddler who kept slipping on my wooden floors. I went from store to store looking for something she could wear besides shoes that would keep her from slipping and sliding. No luck. I saw a void in...

When I was pregnant with Charlie I recall everyone telling me I needed to read this parenting book and that parenting book, and this sleep training book and that sleep training book. In all honesty? I had ZERO interest in spending my free time reading about “how to be a parent,” and I bought none of them. I watched everyone reading “What to Expect When You’re Expecting” as if they were cramming for the SATs, and I just had no interest. It wasn’t until I was in my third trimester that a book finally peaked my...

I remember being so overwhelmed when I was pregnant, with my daughter Charlie, about what to buy before she arrived. How many pairs of footie pajamas did I need, how many gowns, what if I didn’t have enough towels? The list went on and on. I was so excited when I found out that Denny’s Fashion, Style, For All had a layette specialist who could answer all of these questions! I simply called the store, made an appointment, and went in to get my never-ending list of questions answered. Being a soon-to-be second time mom , I...

Samantha Handler is only 22 years old, and she is already the boss of her own company! After recently graduating from the University of Maryland, she decided to use her love for modern art as well as her passion for design, to build a custom design company in NYC. Within a short period of time she gained notoriety, and reached local and national success. But how did it all begin? About five years ago, Samantha hand-painted a pair of University of Maryland sneakers for a friend, and then she was quickly inundated with requests to make more! With all of the...

The sun is extremely fierce in Florida this summer, and so I wanted to share with you my go-to baby/toddler essentials for the beach and pool. My favorite bathing suits for Charlie are the long sleeve RuffleButts. They have built-in sun protection to shield her delicate skin! The built-in UPF 50+ makes me feel like she is getting an extra layer of protection against harsh UV rays. They also have such adorable patterns, for their suits, which makes them even more fun! When it comes to sunscreen my absolute favorite is the mineral-based Baby Ganics SPF 50 spray bottle.  Before Charlie turned...

I’ve always been drawn to stripes, and veered away from polka dots.  For some reason they always look so busy hanging on the rack, and I don’t think they will look right on.  That was until I found this Three Dots Voile Maxi Dress!  Something about it just screamed, “Try me on!”  I guess you can say it was love at first sight-or dot.  The greatest part about it was that I knew I could wear it in the day with a sandal or at night with a wedge or heel.  Having a toddler I don’t always have time to do...
